From 1 Nov 2024 to 25 Jan 2025, SSAA Scottsdale successfully completed a project to replace our 16 existing wooden benches with 16 concrete shooting benches. The project involved the hard work of a small team of dedicated club volunteers who worked tirelessly through the Christmas break to make this happen. We now have 16 brand new concrete benches, providing extremely stable shooting positions.
The total cost of the project was $10,000, equally shared between the club and Dorset Council. The Council provided a matching grant of $5,000 to finance the project. On behalf of SSAA Scottsdale, I would like to thank Dorset Council for the financial assistance that was crucial to the project’s success. In particular, I extend my gratitude to Elizabeth Hadley, the Development Officer at Dorset Council, who advised us throughout the project on all aspects related to the grants process.
Welcome to 2026 – Continuing to Improve and Modernise
A new year begins, and as we step into 2026, we’re proud to continue building on the good work achieved over the past year. Our commitment remains the same: to modernise our facilities, improve member experience, and ensure our range operates to the highest possible standard.
Projects Currently Underway
We have several exciting upgrades in progress:
- Solar Power Installation – We are installing a solar power system to supply our new automated speaker system. This initiative supports both sustainability and reliability, ensuring clear communication across the range while reducing our environmental footprint. Nearing completion
- New Automated Speaker System – Designed to enhance safety and clarity, the new system will provide consistent and precise announcements across all areas. Completed
- Accurate Placement of New Range Distance Markers – Our updated distance markers are being carefully measured and positioned to ensure absolute accuracy for all disciplines and training requirements. Completed
These improvements reflect our ongoing commitment to providing a safe, modern, and professional facility for all members.

An 8:30 am orientation session is held for all prospective members and visitors. This session provides an overview of range procedures, safety expectations, and membership information. We encourage anyone interested to attend and learn more about what we offer.

Introduction
Welcome to Scottsdale Silhouette, Pistol, Target and Hunting Club (commonly referred to as SSAA Scottsdale or T04 Scottsdale).
Range Approvals and Layout
The club has range approval for all handguns and rifles (air, rimfire and centrefire). We have a rifle range out to 200 metres as well as a dedicated pistol range. We also have access to an adjoining 800 yard ranges. Most shooting positions are under cover.
